Tonerde is a fine-ceramic material that provides chemical stability and physical stability. It demonstrates high heat resistance and high thermal conductivity. Owing to its high strength, hardness, electrical insulation, corrosion resistance, and biocompatibility, it is applied in various industries.
Tonerde or aluminium oxide with a molecular weight of 102 is the primary source of aluminium in nature. It has a melting point of 2 072 °C and exhibits high hardness. Tonerde ceramics are the most widely used engineering ceramic material and have a long industrial history.
High purity aluminium oxide ceramics are used as fine ceramics in many industries. This material provides electrical insulation, chemical resistance and low thermal expansion. Aluminium oxide tubes are employed in industrial furnaces and thermal protection systems. High purity aluminium oxide materials are suitable for manufacturing parts for CVD, ion implantation, photolithography and semiconductor components. In conventional applications, aluminium oxide ceramics serve in injection nozzles, gas nozzles and insulators. Compared to metals, aluminium oxide ceramics have a higher hardness, which makes them appropriate for use in abrasives. Aluminium oxide mortars and pestles are routinely used in laboratories for grinding hard materials.
SAM offers a range of aluminium oxide products for various applications, including:
