PBN Crucibles for Research and Laboratory Applications

A customer from the semiconductor and analysis industry sought to optimise crystal growth processes and chemical analysis protocols. The company focused on growing GaAs and InP single crystals and on performing precise chemical analyses on its materials.

Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) delivered a solution that satisfied the customer’s requirements:

VGF Crucibles for crystal growth: These crucibles meet the specific requirements of crystal growth, thereby ensuring outcomes that satisfy process criteria for both GaAs and InP applications. Their design allows for controlled crystal quality and growth efficiency.
MBE Crucibles for GaAs epitaxial layer growth: In GaAs epitaxy using molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), the process was focused on two key factors: crystal purity and the chemical stability of zirconium.
LEC Crucibles for high-purity growth: For the production of high-purity, undoped, semi-insulating single crystals or polycrystals via direct ion implantation, SAM recommended the use of LEC crucibles (Liquid Encapsulated Czochralski).
Platinum Crucibles for chemical analysis: The platinum crucible was employed for XRF sample preparation, ash tests, wet chemistry and Loss on Ignition (LOI) analyses. Consequently, this method yielded measurable improvements in the accuracy and reliability of chemical measurements.
