Researchers evaluate ceramic foams produced from a broad range of ceramic materials, including both oxides and non-oxides, for many potential applications.
Foams are produced from various ceramic materials such as aluminium oxide. They obtain their insulating properties from many small air‐filled voids in the material.
The foam is used for thermal insulation. It is also applied for sound dampening, removal of environmental pollutants, filtration of molten metal alloys, and as a carrier for catalysts that require a large internal surface area.
It has been used as a lightweight, rigid structural material. It has supported mirror telescope assemblies in research applications.
Thermal Insulation Ceramic Foam: It is engineered with controlled porosity. Independent tests indicate a reduction in heat transfer of approximately 20%. This design contributes to temperature regulation in high-temperature environments.
Sound Absorbing Ceramic Foam: Its porous structure absorbs sound waves. Laboratory measurements show noise reduction of up to 25%. It is suitable for building acoustics, automotive applications, and industrial noise control.
Ceramic Filtration Foam: It is developed for filtering molten metals, gases, and liquids. Its large surface area and tailored porosity facilitate particulate separation, achieving efficiencies above 85% in industrial processes.
Thermal Efficiency: The material reduces heat loss. Test data indicate a reduction in thermal conduction of approximately 20%.
Sound Dampening: The foam absorbs and mitigates sound waves. Controlled measurements show noise reduction by up to 25%.
Filtration Capability: Controlled porosity and a large surface area enable particulate separation. Standard industrial tests record particle removal efficiencies above 85%.
Durability: The foam is engineered for mechanical strength and longevity. It withstands high temperatures, corrosive environments, and mechanical stress. Laboratory tests confirm performance over 1 000 thermal cycles exceeding 1 200°C.
Customisation: Solutions may be tailored to specific requirements. Pore size, material composition, and dimensions can be adjusted with a precision of ±5%.
Technical Expertise: Our team provides assistance in selecting the appropriate ceramic foam. Consultation responses are provided within 2 working days.
