Engineers manufacture hot‐pressed boron nitride by utilising hot pressing and sintering methods. This ceramic material is used in thermal insulation applications for high‐temperature operations. It is typically employed in environments with temperatures exceeding 1 000°C. A thermal conductivity measurement below 5 W/(m·K) at 1 200°C has been recorded. The material meets the requirements of stringent thermal performance tests.
Hot-pressed boron nitride is an electrical insulator that exhibits lubricative properties and stability at high temperatures. It retains its lubricity and chemical inertness even under extreme conditions. H-BN has a low mechanical strength but a high heat capacity, measurable thermal conductivity and a high dielectric breakdown strength. It is readily processed. In an inert atmosphere, H-BN remains stable at temperatures exceeding 2 000 °C, thereby serving as a suitable material for high-temperature thermal insulation.
Our range of hot-pressed boron nitride products has been developed to meet specific criteria for thermal conductivity, electrical insulation and mechanical stability. Each product is manufactured following standardised procedures to achieve consistent performance.
Measured Thermal Performance: Hot-pressed boron nitride exhibits quantifiable thermal conductivity. It dissipates heat in high-temperature environments.
Electrical Insulation: The material provides electrical insulation. It prevents electrical conduction and meets dielectric strength requirements for various electronic and industrial applications.
Mechanical Stability: Hot-pressed boron nitride demonstrates defined mechanical strength. It withstands mechanical stresses, erosion and wear in challenging conditions.
Hot-pressed boron nitride is used in various sectors and applications:
Thermal Management: Employ hot-pressed boron nitride in heat sinks, substrates and components to achieve designated heat dissipation.
Electronics and Semiconductors: Use boron nitride as an insulator in high-performance electronic devices, electrical casings and insulators.
Aerospace and Defence: Apply the material to enhance thermal protection, radio frequency transparency and mechanical stability in aerospace and defence applications.
Industrial Processes: Utilise the chemically inert property of boron nitride in crucibles, moulds and components for high-temperature processing.
High-Temperature Resistance: Hot-pressed boron nitride products maintain stability under extreme temperatures without measurable performance loss.
Thermal Conductivity: The material exhibits defined thermal transfer characteristics to ensure components remain within safe operating limits.
Electrical Insulation: The material prevents electrical conduction and meets insulating property requirements.
Mechanical Durability: The products offer measurable strength and stability under challenging conditions.
Precision Engineering: Each product is manufactured according to standardised protocols to maintain uniformity and quality. Given that these procedures are followed, consistency is achieved.
