Inconel is a family of nickel‐chromium superalloys and a brand of Special Metals Corporation. Inconel 601 resists high‐temperature oxidation. The alloy also shows resistance to aqueous corrosion, exhibits high mechanical strength and can be readily formed, machined and welded.
