Molybdenum Heating Element Description
Molybdenum, distinguished by its grey metallic appearance, has the third highest melting point among all elements and is exceeded only by tungsten and tantalum. Molybdenum occurs in various oxidation states in minerals but does not occur naturally as a free metal. Its capacity to form hard and stable carbides makes it a valuable element for the production of steel alloys, high-strength alloys and superalloys.
Molybdenum compounds are widely used in high‐pressure and high‐temperature applications and serve as pigments and catalysts. In particular, molybdenum heating elements are noted for their strength and stability in high‐temperature environments. These elements are often alloyed with other compounds to increase corrosion resistance and to ensure consistent strength, thereby making them suitable for temperatures up to 1 900 °C.

We can customise molybdenum heating elements to suit your requirements.
Applications of Molybdenum Heating Elements
1. Vacuum Furnaces: Molybdenum heating elements are employed in vacuum furnaces for high-temperature processing, sintering and other material treatments. Given the high melting point and temperature endurance of molybdenum, these elements maintain the required high temperatures in a vacuum environment.
2. Lab Research: In laboratory settings where researchers require high-temperature conditions for specific experiments, molybdenum heating elements provide high-temperature heating solutions for a range of scientific studies and experiments.
3. Melting and Processing of Metals: In the metallurgical industry, molybdenum heating elements are used in procedures for melting and processing metals to ensure that metals reach the specified melting point or the desired form.
4. High-Temperature Laboratory Equipment: In certain high-temperature laboratory devices, molybdenum heating elements are utilised to establish a stable high-temperature environment and to simulate the behaviour of materials under defined conditions.
