Titan-doped sapphire crystals combine measured physical attributes and optical attributes with a laser wavelength range that spans approximately 1 000 nm. Industry data indicate that these crystals are used in approximately 70% of wavelength-tuneable laser systems. Monocrystalline titanium dioxide (TiO2) in the rutile phase serves as a material for optical isolators and specialised prisms. Industry measurements report its application in approximately 65% of such devices.
