Neodymium is a chemical element with the symbol Nd and atomic number 60. It is the fourth element of the lanthanide series and is classified as a rare‐earth metal. It is a hard, readily deformable, silvery metal. Neodymium metals are available in the forms of discs, granules, bars, pellets, pieces, powders, rods, wires and sputter targets.
Neodymium metal is available in various forms, including discs, granules, bars, pellets, pieces, powder, rods, wires and sputter targets. Additional forms offered are metal powder, submicron powder, nanoscale material, quantum dots, targets for thin film deposition, evaporation pellets and mono- or polycrystalline material. The material may also be supplied as alloys or compounds in the form of fluorides, oxides, chlorides or as solutions. Neodymium steel is typically available in large quantities. Major applications include laser processing, glass colouring and tinting, and the production of dielectrics.
