Neodymium

Neodymium (Nd) is a chemical element with the symbol Nd and the atomic number 60. It belongs to the lanthanide series. It is a silver‐white, soft and malleable rare earth metal. Neodymium is typically obtained from monazite and bastnäsite. Industries produce permanent magnets using neodymium. Companies use these magnets in electric motors, generators, loudspeakers and high‐precision optical instruments.
