The crucible is used to melt and cast gold, silver, copper, brass and other metals. It is manufactured from melted silicon dioxide and can withstand temperatures up to 1371°C / 2500°F. Before use, the crucible should be glazed with borax, thereby extending its operational lifespan.
Precious metal crucibles are used for melting and casting gold, silver, copper, brass and additional metals. The crucible is manufactured from quartz glass and withstands temperatures up to 1371°C / 2500°F. It is recommended that users glaze the crucible with borax before commencing work, thereby extending its service life.
The melting crucible has a capacity of 12 T.oz. and is suitable for processing gold, silver, copper and brass. The crucible features a dense, thick and heavy base. The recognised coin metals are gold and silver. Other valuable metals include the platinum group metals: Ruthenium, Rhodium, Palladium, Osmium, Iridium and Platinum, with Platinum being the most frequently traded.
Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) provides precious metal crucibles. These include iridium crucibles, platinum crucibles and moulds, standard platinum crucibles, gold crucibles, platinum tips, standard crucibles (Au, Ag, Ir) and platinum crucibles with volatile components.
Purity Assurance: Precious metal crucibles are fabricated from noble metals with high purity. This process reduces contamination and maintains the integrity of the materials during melting, alloying and processing.
High Temperature Resistance: Precious metal crucibles are designed to withstand elevated temperatures. They retain structural integrity during high-temperature processes such as jewellery casting and alloy production.
Craftsmanship: Precious metal crucibles are produced by experienced technicians under standardised conditions. They meet the specific requirements for applications involving noble metals, gemstones and refined materials.
Chemical Inertness: These crucibles exhibit inherent chemical inertness. This property prevents reactions between the crucible and processed materials, thereby preserving material purity and reducing contamination risks.
Versatility: Precious metal crucibles are utilised in jewellery casting, gemstone casting, research laboratories and other high-specification sectors. They are offered in various sizes and designs to meet detailed requirements.
Jewellery Casting: Precious metal crucibles are used in the jewellery industry for melting and casting noble metals to manufacture complex designs with high precision.
Gemstone Processing: These crucibles are employed for setting gemstones and producing jewellery that necessitates controlled temperatures and minimal risk of contamination.
Advanced Research: Researchers utilise precious metal crucibles for experiments in the synthesis of specific materials and for growing crystalline structures.
Art Restoration: In the restoration of historical artworks and artefacts, precious metal crucibles are used to produce custom alloys for repair and conservation tasks.
Manufacture of Luxury Goods: High-value products such as designer watches and luxury accessories require precious metal crucibles for producing intricately specified components.
Our precious metal crucibles are sourced from reputable manufacturers known for strict adherence to quality standards. We commit to supplying crucibles that meet the highest industry benchmarks.
