(3-Glycidyloxypropyl)triethoxysilane Description
3-Glycidoxypropyltriethoxysilane (CAS No. 2602-34-8) is an organosilane with an epoxy function. It is also known as Silan-Kupplungsmittel KH-561. The compound contains a reactive organic epoxy group and hydrolysable inorganic methoxysilyl groups. Due to its dual reactivity, KH-561 bonds chemically to inorganic materials (e.g. glass, metals, fillers) and organic polymers (e.g. thermosets, thermoplastics, elastomers). Consequently, it serves as an adhesion promoter, crosslinking agent and/or surface modifier.
Synonyms: 3-(2,3-Epoxypropyloxy)propyltriethoxysilan, 3-(Triethoxysilyl)propylglycidylether, Triethoxy(3-glycidoxypropyl)silan, Triethoxy(3-glycidoxypropyl)silan, etc.
