Triethoxyvinylsilane Description
Triethoxyvinylsilane is a vinyl‐functional silane that is used to improve the adhesion between glass fibre or mineral fillers and resins that react with the vinyl group. It is also employed for the functionalisation of resins via radical mechanisms – copolymerisation or grafting – and for surface modification.
Synonyms: VTEO, Vinyltriethoxysilane, Trietoxyvinylsilane, DYNASYLAN VTEO, Ethenyltriethyloxysilane, Silan-Kupplungsmittel A-151, Ethenyl(triethoxy)silane

Triethoxyvinylsilane Applications
Vinyltriethoxysilane (CAS No. 78-08-0) is a silane coupling agent used as an additive in various applications, including emulsion polymerisation, silane-crosslinked polymers, adhesives, sealants and hotmelt formulations.
It is used to improve the reactivity between glass fibres, inorganic fillers and resins with vinyl in cables and pipes manufactured from silane-crosslinked polyethylene.
Owing to its function as a coupling and crosslinking agent, it is applicable for polymers such as polyethylene, polypropylene and unsaturated polyesters. It can be copolymerised with acrylic paint to produce specialised exterior coatings. It is also used as an adhesion promoter for silicone rubber, metal and textiles.
