Iridium Plate/Sheet Description
Iridium plates and iridium sheets are available from Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM). The iridium plate and iridium sheet are manufactured from iridium. Iridium is a metal from the platinum group with atomic number 77. Iridium is a very hard and brittle metal with a silvery colour. Iridium exhibits high corrosion resistance even at temperatures up to 2 000°C. Iridium is used as the tip material for spark plugs and has been utilised in the fabrication of melting crucibles for the manufacture of synthetic crystals.
