Iridium Ribbon/Strip Description
Iridium Ribbon/Strip is the most corrosion‐resistant known wire and is frequently used for the production and repair of filaments and heaters as well as for electrical applications.
The majority of ribbons are rolled for use in coating and thin film processes, including chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and physical vapour deposition (PVD); these include thermal and electron beam evaporation (E-Beam), low‐temperature organic evaporation, atomic layer deposition (ALD) and metalorganic as well as chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD) for specialised applications such as fuel cells and solar energy.

Iridium Ribbons/Strips Applications
1. Electric contact materials: Due to its electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance, Iridium ribbon/strip is frequently used for the manufacture of electrical contact materials such as electrical connectors and switches.
2. Resistors: In precision electronics, Iridium ribbon is used in the production of resistors for the measurement and control of electrical currents.
3. Catalyst carrier materials: Iridium ribbons/strips are used as carriers or support materials for catalysts, thereby facilitating chemical reactions, for example in three-way catalysts in vehicle emission control systems.
4. High-temperature sealing materials: Given Iridium’s high melting point and heat resistance, Iridium ribbon/strip is used as a high-temperature sealing material, for example in vacuum systems and high-temperature reactors.
5. Scientific research: In scientific experiments and research, Iridium ribbon/strip is frequently used for the manufacture of experimental apparatus and detectors, such as mass spectrometers and spectrometers.
6. Aerospace applications: In spacecraft and satellites, various components such as connectors for navigation systems and communication devices are produced from Iridium ribbons/strips.
