Magnesium-Scandium Master Alloy Description
Magnesium-Scandium master alloy is manufactured from molten magnesium and scandium metal. Standard alloy compositions include MgSc2, MgSc5, MgSc10, MgSc20 and MgSc30. Stanford Advanced Materials provides high‐purity Magnesium-Scandium master alloy (Mg-Sc) at a competitive price.

Magnesium-Scandium Master Alloy Application
Rare earth elements (RE) have been successfully incorporated into magnesium. The addition of RE refines the grain structure and reduces anisotropy, thereby improving the ductility of magnesium alloys. Furthermore, RE elements produce a dispersion of thermally stable precipitates with melting points exceeding 620 °C. In contrast, precipitates in the Mg-Zn system melt at approximately 340 °C, exhibit poor thermal stability and may lead to hot tearing.
Magnesium-Scandium Master Alloy Packaging
The Magnesium-Scandium master alloy from SAM is handled with care to minimise damage during storage and transport. This ensures that the product quality is maintained in its original condition.
