Applications of Terbium(III,IV)-Oxide Evaporation Materials
Phosphors: Terbium oxide is a key component in phosphors used in fluorescent lamps, cathode ray tubes (CRTs) and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). When excited by ultraviolet or blue light sources, these materials emit green and blue light.
2. Magneto-optical Materials: Terbium oxide is utilised in magneto-optical materials for data storage, for example in rewritable optical discs and magnetic random-access memory (MRAM), whose magnetic properties permit reversible magnetisation when a magnetic field is applied.
3. Lasers: Terbium-doped oxide materials are employed as gain media in solid-state lasers, particularly in green laser pointers and high-performance lasers for spectroscopy, material processing and scientific research.
4. Catalysts: Catalysts based on terbium oxide are used owing to their catalytic activity and stability under severe reaction conditions in various chemical reactions, including organic synthesis and environmental remediation.
5. Nuclear Industry: Owing to its high neutron absorption cross-section and stability under irradiation, terbium oxide is employed in control rods of nuclear reactors to regulate neutron flux.
6. Glass and Ceramics: Terbium oxide is added to glass and ceramics to confer specific optical and luminescent properties, such as colouring, fluorescence and UV absorption, thereby making them suitable for decorative glass, optical filters and radiation shielding materials.
Packaging
To ensure the integrity of our products during storage and transport, SAM carefully packs our Terbium(III,IV)-oxide evaporation pellets in a vacuum-sealed plastic bag. In addition, the Certificate of Analysis (COA) for the raw material is provided, so that you receive the products in optimum condition.
