CORM-2 Powder Description
Carbon monoxide releasing molecules (CORMs) are chemical compounds that release carbon monoxide (CO) in controlled amounts. CORMs are developed as potential therapeutic agents to locally deliver CO to cells and tissues and thereby overcome the limitations of CO gas inhalation protocols.

CORM-2 Powder Applications
CORM-2 powder can be employed in pharmacological studies:
- Improvement of coagulation and reduction in susceptibility to fibrinolysis
- Investigation of P2X4 as a potential target
- Examination of modifications in thrombus growth or formation
- Enhancement of fibrinogen as a substrate for thrombin
- Regulation of ion transport mediated by gasotransmitters
Furthermore, CORM-2 powder can be utilised as a CO donor for reactive oxygen species-mediated bacterial inactivation. Tricarbonyldichlororuthenium(II) dimer can be used in deuteration reactions for the labelling of secondary amines. It can also be employed in the synthesis of racemisation catalysts by reaction with cyclopenta[l]phenanthrenyl and cyclopenta[a]acenaphthylenyl ligands.
