In optics, a prism is a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that produce a slight refraction. At least two of the flat surfaces must be positioned at an angle relative to each other. The exact angles between the surfaces depend on the application.
In optics, a prism is a transparent optical element with flat, polished surfaces that refract light. At least two surfaces form an angle. The typical geometric form is a triangular prism with a triangular base and rectangular sides. In common usage, the term "prism" generally refers to this form. Some optical prisms do not follow the geometry of classic prisms. Prisms can be produced from any material suitable for the designed wavelengths.
A dispersive prism separates light into its individual spectral colours. Prisms may also be used to reflect light or to divide a light beam into components with defined polarisation.
Right-Angled Prisms: These prisms redirect light by a 90-degree angle. They are employed in imaging systems, alignment equipment and laser devices.
Equilateral Prisms: These prisms separate incident light into its spectral components. They are used in spectroscopy, educational demonstrations and artistic installations.
Dove Prisms: Dove prisms invert images by 180°. They are applied in beam control, alignment procedures and laser interferometry.
Penta Prisms: Penta prisms maintain parallelism between incident and emergent beams. This attribute is required for the precise alignment of optical systems.
Optical Precision: Our prisms are designed for high optical accuracy. They exhibit minimal dispersion, accurate beam manipulation and consistent performance.
Versatility: Prisms are used in various industries. Their applications include scientific research, telecommunications, astronomy and educational demonstrations.
Educational Utility: Prisms are useful instruments in the study of optics. They enable students and practitioners to observe the behaviour of light directly.
Customised Solutions: We recognise that different applications require tailored approaches. Our technical team collaborates with clients to develop customised prism solutions that meet specific requirements.
Quality Assurance: Our prisms undergo strict quality control to meet and exceed industrial standards. Each prism is manufactured with precision to ensure reliable and consistent optical performance.
Technical Expertise: Our optical scientists and engineers provide technical support and advice. They assist in selecting the most appropriate prisms for defined applications.
Global Availability: We provide worldwide shipping and support. This ensures that our high-quality prisms are available for industry, educational institutions and other users across the globe.
