Manufacturers use Nickel Niob 60% in the production of nickel-based superalloys and specialised nickel steels.
Nickel-Niob 60% is primarily used in manufacturing nickel-based superalloys and specialised nickel steels. Niobium improves the mechanical properties, weldability and creep resistance of these alloys. The substantial difference in melting points between the base steel and niobium makes it difficult to maintain pure niobium in the bath. When supplied as an alloy, nickel-niob dissolves readily. Its melting temperature is comparable to or lower than the standard operating temperature. The carrier alloy is used to incorporate niobium into copper-nickel alloys to enhance mechanical performance, for example in cryogenic applications.
Corrosion Resistance: Nickel provides inherent corrosion resistance. Niobium contributes mechanical strength. The alloy withstands harsh environments, aggressive substances and corrosive conditions.
Mechanical Performance: The alloy exhibits strength and flexibility in various applications. It meets requirements for load-bearing and adaptable use.
Temperature Stability: Nickel withstands high temperatures, while niobium supplies the necessary mechanical properties. Consequently, the alloy functions in elevated temperature conditions.
Longevity and Reliability: The alloy resists deformation under load. This characteristic facilitates long-term stability in applications that demand extended operation.
