Scandium (Sc) is a silvery white metallic d‑block element. It is classified as a rare earth element. Most deposits of rare earths and uranium compounds contain scandium. Extraction occurs in only a few mines globally.
Scandium is used as an additive in metal halide lamps. The aluminium‐scandium alloy is lightweight and high‐strength. It is used in aerospace components and bicycle frames. The available elemental forms include pellets, rods, wires and granulates. High‐purity evaporation materials are required in deposition processes to produce thin films that meet defined quality standards.
Scandium (Sc) evaporation materials are used in the PVD process to deposit thin films.
Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) manufactures and supplies Scandium evaporation materials, aluminium‐scandium (Al/Sc) evaporation materials and scandium‐aluminium (Sc/Al) evaporation materials.
Scandium, aluminium‐scandium and scandium oxide evaporation materials.
Purity: ≥99.9%
Purity and Consistency: Scandium evaporation materials are produced using advanced techniques. Impurities are minimised. This reduction enables precise deposition and reproducible results in each production batch.
Uniformity of Coating: Our Scandium evaporation materials deliver uniform film thickness and accurate control. The constant material composition and controlled evaporation assist in producing thin films with consistent properties. This applies to semiconductor, optoelectronic and other applications.
Customised Options: Each project has unique requirements. Consequently, customised options are available for Scandium evaporation materials, including various forms, sizes and purities. The materials can be adapted to specific deposition systems and application needs.
Thermal Stability: Scandium evaporation materials are designed to withstand high temperatures encountered during thin film coating processes. This thermal stability ensures efficient evaporation and deposition. It results in thin films with minimal defects.
The Scandium evaporation materials are used in various sectors, including:
Electronics: For the manufacture of transistors, memory devices and interconnections.
Optics: For the production of reflective and anti‐reflective coatings and optical filters.
Aerospace: For specialised coatings on components exposed to severe conditions.
Research: Supports investigations in materials science, nanotechnology and other disciplines.
Quality Assurance: Materials are subjected to strict quality controls to ensure compliance with industry standards. You may rely on consistent product performance.
Customisation: Orders can be tailored to meet specific equipment and project requirements. Customers may adjust the material specifications accordingly.
Technical Support: Our expert team is available to assist with enquiries regarding material properties, deposition techniques and application options. Contact us for specific technical guidance.
Timely and Reliable Delivery: Delivery schedules are maintained to support research and production timelines. Orders are dispatched promptly to ensure that projects remain on track.
