Incoloy 800 (UNS N08800) is an alloy utilised for constructing devices. It demonstrates corrosion resistance, heat tolerance and structural strength, thereby supporting operation up to 816°C (1 500°F).
High heat resistance: Incoloy 800 is engineered to retain its strength and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures. It is suitable for applications up to 1 100°C (2 000°F).
Resistance to oxidation and carburisation: The alloy exhibits resistance to oxidation and carburisation in high-temperature conditions. This capability supports durability during prolonged exposure.
Creep and fracture strength: It possesses measured creep and fracture strength. This property meets mechanical demands under elevated temperatures.
Corrosion resistance: The alloy shows high resistance to various corrosive media. Consequently, it is applicable in both oxidising and reducing environments.
Weldability: The alloy is easily welded. It permits the fabrication of complex structures and components with minimal risk of embrittlement.
Heat treatment: Incoloy 800 is used in heat treatment installations. These include tubs, baskets and devices for annealing and other high-temperature processes.
Energy generation: The alloy is utilised in steam generators, heat exchangers and superheater tubes. It is employed in power plants for fossil fuels and in nuclear power stations.
Industrial furnaces: Incoloy 800 is employed in radiant tubes, muffle sections and other components of industrial furnaces. High temperature endurance and an extended lifespan are required.
Chemical processing: The alloy is selected for systems operating with corrosive chemicals and acids under high temperatures. Its characteristics support sustained performance.
Aerospace industry: Incoloy 800 is utilised in aircraft exhaust systems and in other components. These components are exposed to high-temperature gases.
