Legierung 400 is a single‐phase nickel-copper alloy in a solid solution. It provides corrosion resistance in various corrosive environments at temperatures from below 0°F to 800°F. Strengthening is achieved solely through cold forming rather than heat treatment.
Resistance to Corrosion: Alloy 400 has been tested to resist corrosion in environments containing seawater, acids (pH <1) and alkalis (pH >13). It is recommended for applications in these conditions.
High Strength: Alloy 400 meets the required strength criteria. It maintains its structural performance under mechanical loads as specified by industry standards.
Ductility: Alloy 400 exhibits ductility that permits forming, bending and machining operations. This property supports production even for complex configurations.
Versatile Applications: Alloy 400 is utilised in various applications from maritime components to chemical processing installations. This is due to its verified resistance to corrosion and its measured mechanical performance.
Maritime: In maritime operations, Alloy 400 is used to mitigate the corrosive effects of seawater and saline solutions. Test data confirm its suitability for such environments.
Chemical Processing: Within chemical plants, Alloy 400 is incorporated in systems that handle aggressive chemicals, acids and alkalis. Its performance is verified through standardised tests.
Oil and Gas: In oil and gas applications, Alloy 400 is applied where its quantified corrosion resistance and mechanical integrity meet safety requirements under harsh conditions.
Industry: Industrial sectors such as food processing and electronics utilise Alloy 400 for its measured resistance to corrosion and its ability to maintain material performance over extended periods.
Quality Assurance: Alloy 400 is subjected to defined testing protocols to ensure it meets industry standards. Test results verify its performance in terms of reliability, safety and consistency.
Technical Expertise: Our team provides data-based advice and support on selecting the appropriate alloy for your specific applications.
Longevity and Reliability: The combination of measured corrosion resistance and mechanical performance qualifies Alloy 400 for use in environments exposed to corrosive agents and mechanical loading.
