Zirconium compounds include nitrides (ZrN) that become superconductors at reduced temperatures. They are used in infrared detectors. The principal zirconium compound is ZrC. It has a Vickers hardness of approximately 25 GPa. This refractory ceramic material is utilised for cutting tools.
Compounds: Zirconium carbide, zirconium nitride, zirconium diboride, zirconium disulphide, zirconium oxide, zirconium hydride, zirconium carbonate, gadolinium zirconate, etc.
Zirconium compounds have been demonstrated to support catalytic processes. They enable several chemical reactions that underpin modern industrial production. Our portfolio has been evaluated under controlled experiments. It meets established performance standards.
Catalytic versatility: Zirconium compounds demonstrate catalytic versatility. They are used in varied reactions across sectors including petrochemical processing and pharmaceutical synthesis. Evaluations indicate reaction rates increased by 15% and product yields by 10%. Waste generation decreased by 12% on average.
High thermal stability: Zirconium compounds are designed to operate under high-temperature conditions. They maintain activity at temperatures above 500°C. Standard catalysts may not perform under similar conditions.
Environmental performance: Zirconium compounds yield reduced waste, lower energy consumption and decreased hazardous reagent usage. Controlled processes showed energy consumption reduced by up to 8% and hazardous reagent use decreased by 5%.
Zirconium oxides: Zirconium oxide-based catalysts are applied to enhance activity and selectivity. They are used in petroleum refining and emission control. Trials recorded reaction rate improvements between 8% and 12%.
Zirconium hydroxides: Zirconium hydroxides are utilised in processes requiring strong acid or base catalysis. They are applied in the manufacture of speciality chemicals and fine pharmaceuticals. Evaluations noted a 10% reduction in processing time.
Zirconium alkoxides: Zirconium alkoxide solutions are used in controlled polymerisation, cross-linking and condensation reactions. They facilitate precise reaction control in polymer synthesis. Applications achieved improved molecular weight distribution control in evaluated trials.
