SAM supplies iodine immediately in most quantities. SAM offers high‐purity, submicron and nanopowder forms on request. SAM manufactures various standard grades including Mil Spec, ACS, Reagent, Technical Grade, Food, Agricultural, Pharmaceutical, Optical Grade, USP and EP/BP. SAM meets the applicable ASTM test standards.
Iodine is a chemical element with the symbol I and atomic number 53. It is the heaviest of the stable halogens. Under standard conditions, it exists as a non-metallic solid with a violet-black appearance. It melts at 114 °C and boils at 184 °C into a gaseous state.
Iodine is an essential mineral nutrient that occurs in seafood. The thyroid uses iodine to produce hormones that regulate growth, repair cells and maintain metabolic function (1, 2). Up to one third of the global population is at risk of iodine deficiency (3).
Iodine Tinctures and Disinfectants: Investigate iodine‐based tinctures and disinfectants. These formulations are used for skin disinfection, wound care and during medical procedures. They offer antiseptic properties.
Iodine Compounds for Nutrition: Examine the use of iodine compounds for supporting thyroid function and preventing iodine deficiency disorders. These compounds are essential for proper metabolic rate and cognitive development.
Iodine for Industrial Applications: Review the industrial uses of iodine, such as in the manufacture of dyes, pharmaceuticals and radiographic contrast agents. Its chemical reactivity contributes to the synthesis of various compounds.
Antiseptic Effect: Iodine‐based disinfectants and tinctures exhibit a measurable bactericidal effect. They are valuable for healthcare applications.
Support for Nutrition: Iodine compounds assist in maintaining thyroid function. They are necessary for metabolic regulation and the prevention of iodine deficiency disorders.
Chemical Versatility: The reactivity of iodine promotes specific chemical reactions and aids in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, dyes and other compounds.
Health and Industrial Utility: Our iodine products are suited for both medical applications and industrial processes. Consequently, they contribute to improved public health and efficient production.
Customisation: Choose from various forms and compounds of iodine to meet specific application requirements.
