About Iodine

Iodine is a chemical element with the symbol I and atomic number 53. It is the heaviest of the stable halogens. Under standard conditions, it exists as a non-metallic solid with a violet-black appearance. It melts at 114 °C and boils at 184 °C into a gaseous state.
