Aluminium-Silicon Carbide Structural Components Description
Aluminium-Silicon Carbide is a metal–ceramic composite that consists of silicon carbide particles dispersed in an aluminium alloy matrix. It combines the high thermal conductivity of metal with the low thermal expansion coefficient of ceramic. Aluminium-Silicon Carbide Structural Components were first employed in a military US radar chip substrate to replace tungsten–copper. After substitution, thermal management met technical specifications. The radar experienced a weight reduction of 10 kg, thereby drawing attention to the potential of the aluminium–silicon carbide material.

Aluminium-Silicon Carbide Structural Components Advantages
Aluminium-Silicon Carbide Structural Components have the following advantages:
- The coefficient of thermal expansion is equivalent to that of ceramic, thereby matching chip requirements;
- Exhibits higher thermal conductivity than tungsten–copper and aluminium alloys;
- Demonstrates flexural strength comparable to cast iron and fracture toughness akin to Grade 45 steel;
- Is as light as aluminium and possesses half the density of titanium.
