Chamomile is named after its apple-like scent and serves as a common name for several daisy-like plants. Its branching stem is upright and smooth, reaching heights of 15-60 cm. The long and narrow leaves are either pinnately or tripinnately divided. The flowers are arranged in racemose heads. The white ray florets are accompanied by a ligule, while the disc florets are yellow. The hollow flower receptacle is swollen and lacks scales. The flowers possess a strong, aromatic scent and bloom from early to mid-summer.
