36-inch Beryllium Copper Alloy, Spark-proof Heavy-duty Reversible Chain Pipe Specification
Beryllium Copper (BeCu), also known as Copper-Beryllium and Beryllium Bronze, is a copper alloy containing 0.5% to 3% beryllium and occasionally other alloying elements. Beryllium Copper combines high strength with non-magnetic and non-sparking properties. It is applied in tools designed for hazardous environments, in musical instruments, precision measuring devices, ball bearings and in aerospace.
Beryllium Copper (BeCu) is a ductile, weldable and machinable alloy. It can be heat treated to improve its strength, durability and electrical conductivity. Beryllium Copper achieves the highest strength (up to 1 400 MPa) of all copper alloys and is employed in low-current contacts for batteries and electrical plugs due to its electrical conductivity.
Beryllium Copper (BeCu) is utilised for measurement tools during drilling (MWD) in the directional drilling industry. A non-magnetic alloy is required since magnetometers record the magnetic field data from the tool.
Since Beryllium Copper (BeCu) does not produce sparks, is physically tough and non-magnetic, it is employed to manufacture tools for use in environments containing explosive fumes and gases.
