Beryllium Copper Spark-Proof Screwdriver Description
Beryllium Copper (BeCu), also known as Copper-Beryllium and Beryllium Bronze, is a copper alloy containing 0.5–3% beryllium and occasionally other alloying elements. Beryllium Copper offers high strength, non-magnetic and spark-proof properties. It has many specific applications in tools for hazardous environments, musical instruments, precision measurement devices, projectiles and aerospace.

Beryllium Copper (BeCu) is a ductile, weldable and machinable alloy. It can be heat-treated to improve its strength, durability and electrical conductivity. Beryllium Copper achieves the highest strength (up to 1 400 MPa) among copper alloys and is used for low current contacts in batteries and electrical connectors because of its electrical conductivity.
Beryllium Copper (BeCu) is employed in measurement-while-drilling (MWD) tools in the directional drilling industry. A non-magnetic alloy is required given that magnetometers record the field strength data received from the tool.
Because Beryllium Copper (BeCu) is spark-proof, physically tough and non-magnetic, it is used to manufacture tools that can be safely utilised in environments containing explosive fumes and gases.
