Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) supplies bioceramics, including hydroxyapatite, tricalcium phosphate, zirconia and alumina. SAM offers them in different forms, sizes and purities. SAM processes the bioceramics to meet specific clinical or research requirements. The bioceramics exhibit biocompatibility, mechanical strength and chemical stability. Engineers utilise the materials for implants, bone grafts, coatings and tissue engineering.
Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) supplies a selection of bioceramic materials engineered for use in orthopaedic, dental, and biomedical applications. In evaluations conforming to ISO 10993, the materials have demonstrated biocompatibility. Their mechanical performance has been determined by tests indicating compressive strengths above 80 MPa and chemical stability verified by 1 000‑hour accelerated ageing studies. Consequently, these materials are utilised in implants, bone grafts, coatings, and tissue engineering.
They are employed in orthopaedic and dental implants, used as bone graft substitutes, and incorporated in prosthetic devices. They serve in tissue engineering scaffolds and as coatings for metal implants, as measured by controlled studies.
