Borsilicid (SiB6)-Powder Description
Borsilicid (SiB6)-Powder (CAS: 12008-29-6) is a dark grey to black powder with a relative density of 3.0 and a melting point of 2200℃. It is insoluble in water and resists oxidation, thermal shock and chemical attack. Its strength and stability remain high under thermal shock, and its grinding efficiency exceeds that of Borkarbid.
Borsilicid (SiB6)-Powder is utilised as various standard abrasives and abrasive carbides. It is also employed as a ceramic material in engineering, for sandblasting nozzles, gas engine blades and other specifically shaped sintered parts and gaskets. In addition, it is used as an antioxidation agent for refractory materials.
