Description of Boron Nitride Ceramic BN-BO
Boron Nitride (BN) is a synthetic ceramic manufactured by sintering BN powder at high temperature and pressure. It exhibits high temperature resistance, high thermal conductivity, ease of machining and effective lubricity, thereby confirming its suitability as a material for high-temperature applications.
In BN-BO, a B2O3 binder is employed to enhance the mechanical strength of hot-pressed hBN. A higher density is achieved without any loss of ceramic powder. Consequently, it is a suitable option for high-temperature insulators in the electronics industry.
Due to the hygroscopic adhesive system, BN-BO must be used in a manner that avoids exposure to moisture.
- High-density, high-purity powder; a practical option for high-temperature insulators.
- It is an appropriate option for specialised nozzles.
- Exhibits processability and can be fabricated according to specific technical drawings.
