3-Methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilan Description
3-Methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilan is a silane coupling agent that improves the adhesion of polymers to mineral surfaces. It has been evaluated in research and development studies, which confirmed that chemical bonding is the primary mechanism of action.
Chemical Properties: A colourless transparent liquid that is soluble in many organic solvents. An insoluble polysiloxane may form after hydrolysis curing.

3-Methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilan Applications
3-Methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilan is predominantly used to enhance adhesion between organic and inorganic substrates. Typical substrates include glass fibres in glass-reinforced materials, plastics, rubber, paint, and coatings for silica-based fillers. It is also used in adhesives to increase bonding performance. The modified resins include epoxy, phenol-formaldehyde, melamine, polysulfide, polyurethane and polystyrene.
It is employed in unsaturated polyester composite materials. These composites may exhibit improved mechanical properties, electrical performance, transmission performance and wettability.
