- Anti-corrosion coating

Paints containing Chromium(III) phosphate have been utilised as a corrosion-resistant coating for metals. The paints consist of an aqueous, acidic Chromium(III) phosphate solution that transforms into a consistent film upon application to metals commonly used in manufacturing and commercial vehicle construction, including Zinc, Zinc alloys, Aluminium, and Aluminium alloys. Application methods include galvanising, dipping, or spraying the solution onto the substrate's surface.

- Catalyst

Chromium(III) phosphate has several applications in the polymer industry. Combined Chromium(III) Aluminium phosphate is frequently employed as a catalyst in the alkylation of aromatic hydrocarbons with alcohols, for example, in the methylation of toluene with methanol. The alcohol undergoes dehydration to form ether, while the alkyl-substituted product serves as an intermediate in the production of synthetic fibres such as poly(ethylene terephthalate).

The pre-treatment with Chromium(III) phosphate silicate is also utilised as a laminated structure to dampen vibrations and noise in an engine.
