Introduction Several patients with Essure® implants seek removal due to ongoing adverse effects, which may be linked to metal ion release from implant corrosion. The devices include polyester fibres, nickel-titanium alloy, and chromium. This study reports initial findings on nickel and chromium concentrations in peritoneal fluid and fallopian tube tissue during laparoscopic Essure® removal.
