Introduction Amorphous carbon exhibits potential as a material for energy storage. This study employs X-ray total scattering, RMC modelling, and persistent homology analysis to examine amorphous carbon samples treated at varying temperatures. Analysis indicates higher carbon atom connectivity in samples treated at elevated temperatures, with persistent homology providing quantitative insights into ring structures and atomic connectivity.
