Gadolinium (III) Chloride Hexahydrate Powder Description:
Gadolinium(III) chloride hydrate is a rare‐earth compound of gadolinium. It is water‐soluble and hygroscopic. Gadolinium is a rare earth element with a high magnetic moment. This magnetic property enables an increase in signal intensity by shortening relaxation times. It is used in semiconductor manufacturing and in the shielding of nuclear reactors. When combined with EDTA ligands, gadolinium can be applied as an injectable contrast agent for MRI examinations.
Gadolinium chloride is utilised in the production of optical glass and as a dopant for gadolinium‐yttrium garnet employed in the microwave range. High‐purity gadolinium chloride is used in the manufacture of laser crystals and phosphors for colour television tubes. It is also applied in the production of Gadolinium‐Yttrium Garnet (Gd:Y3Al5O12); it finds use in various optical components and as a substrate material for magneto‐optical films. Gadolinium–Gallium Garnet (GGG, Gd3Ga5O12) was applied for the imitation of diamonds and in computer bubble memory. It may also serve as an electrolyte in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs).

Applications of Gadolinium (III) Chloride Hexahydrate Powder:
- It is widely used in the electronics industry and scientific research.
- It is employed for the extraction of gadolinium and gadolinium compounds.
- In crystalline form it functions as an active laser medium.
