Description of Nomex Filter Bags
Nomex is a fire-resistant material. Filter bags manufactured from Nomex provide inherent resistance to both acidic and alkaline substances. They are designed specifically for smoke filtration in cement kilns and for use in water-repellent filters. Given that they exhibit a higher air-to-fabric ratio, increased temperature resistance, lower cost and longer operational lifespan, they contribute to overall system cost reductions.
Properties
- Lower acquisition cost and improved performance compared with conventional heat‐resistant fabrics
- High intensity
- High resistance to abrasion and folding
- High resistance to acidic substances
- Easy to maintain and clean
- Resistant to breakage
- Low pressure drop
Note: The aramid needle felt is also referred to as Nomex. In fact, "Nomex ®" is a registered trademark owned by DuPont ®.
