Iridium Alloys

Iridium alloys consist of an iridium matrix and additional constituent elements. They constitute a type of precious metal material designed for defined technical applications. The alloy exhibits a melting point near 2 446 °C, as measured in standard laboratory tests. Its chemical stability was determined via tests that indicated an 80% reduction in corrosion rate compared to standard alloys. The material retains its integrity at sustained temperatures up to 1 000 °C.
