Description of Medical Titanium Alloys Films

There are two types of titanium alloy films for medical purposes: Ti-6AL4V and Ti-6AL4VELI, alloys consisting of 6% aluminium and 4% vanadium, are the most commonly used titanium grades in medicine. Due to their compatible properties with the human body, these titanium alloys are frequently employed in medical procedures and piercings. They are also known as Gr. 5 and Gr. 23 and are among the most well-known and readily available titanium grades in the USA, with a variety of suppliers specialising in these specific grades.

Ti-6AL4V and Ti-6AL4VELI offer higher fracture toughness when used in dental implants. The implant procedure begins with the insertion of a titanium screw into the jawbone. The screw resembles the root of a tooth and behaves similarly. After a specific period, during which the bone integrates with the medical titanium screw, a dental prosthesis connects to the implant.
