Description of Medical Titanium Alloy Plate

There are two types of titanium alloys for medical purposes: Ti-6AL4V and Ti-6AL4VELI, alloys containing 6% aluminium and 4% vanadium, which are the most commonly used titanium grades in medicine. Due to their compatibility with the human body, these titanium alloys are frequently employed in medical procedures and piercings. They are also known as Gr. 5 and Gr. 23, and are among the most recognised and readily available titanium grades within the UK, with several suppliers specialising in these specific grades.

Ti-6AL4V and Ti-6AL4VELI offer higher fracture resistance when used in dental implants. The implant procedure begins with the insertion of a titanium screw into the jaw. This screw resembles the root of a tooth and behaves similarly. After a set period, allowing bone to integrate with the titanium screw, an artificial tooth is attached to the implant.
