Micro‐Zirconium Powder Applications
Highly pure zirconium powder with the smallest possible average grain size is utilised in the production of pressed and bonded sputter targets and in chemical vapour deposition (CVD) and physical vapour deposition (PVD) processes. These processes include thermal evaporation and electron beam evaporation (E-Beam), low-temperature organic evaporation, atomic layer deposition (ALD) and metal–organic as well as chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD). Owing to the resistance to corrosion exhibited by zirconium products, the material is used as an alloying agent in materials that are exposed to corrosive substances, for example in surgical instruments, explosive detonators, vacuum tube getters and filaments.
