Poly(N-isopropylacrylamid) Description:
Poly(N-isopropylacrylamid) (PNIPAM) is a thermally responsive polymer with a low critical solution temperature (LCST). It exhibits both hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties below and above its LCST. It is synthesised as microgels by radical precipitation polymerisation.
Stanford Advanced Materials (SAM) is a globally recognised supplier of Poly(N-isopropylacrylamid) and provides materials that meet rigorous specifications at a competitive price.

Poly(N-isopropylacrylamid) Applications:
Poly(N-isopropylacrylamid) (PNIPAM) can be used to produce a responsive hydrogel. This hydrogel is utilised in sensors, fuel cells, supercapacitors and lithium-ion batteries.
It is also used in the fabrication of molecular nanothermometers. PNIPAM is coated with gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) to form microgels that generate reproducible signals for surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS).
