Lithium-Niobate Crystal Description
Lithium niobate crystal is an inorganic material and a negative crystal that exhibits piezoelectric, ferroelectric, photoelectric, nonlinear optical and thermoelectric properties. It shows an optical refractive effect and serves as an appropriate piezoelectric conversion material. As an electro‐optic material in optical communication, it is employed in parametric oscillators, frequency doubling, acoustic and optical devices as well as optical modulators. Doping with MgO can effectively improve the crystal's damage threshold.
