Potassium Cyanide Powder Description:
Potassium cyanide powder is a white granular or crystalline powder with a density of 1 857 g/cm³, a boiling point of 1 625 °C and a melting point of 634 °C. It is highly toxic. Inhalation of a small quantity of potassium cyanide powder may cause fatal poisoning. It is hygroscopic in humid conditions and releases trace amounts of hydrogen cyanide gas. Potassium cyanide powder is readily soluble in water and only sparingly soluble in alcohol. The aqueous solution is strongly alkaline and is rapidly hydrolysed.
