Cordierite Ceramic Honeycomb Description
Cordierite ceramic honeycombs are manufactured from cordierite ceramic. Cordierite ceramic is a magnesium‐aluminium silicate that exhibits high thermal shock resistance. It demonstrates low thermal conductivity and low thermal expansion and is produced cost‐efficiently. It is utilised as a structural ceramic for combustion aids and in applications that involve rapid temperature changes.
Advantages of Cordierite Ceramic Honeycomb
- High thermal shock resistance
- Low thermal conductivity and thermal expansion
- Adequate mechanical strength
- Suitable for use up to approximately 1 200 °C
- High crack resistance

Applications for Cordierite Ceramic Honeycombs
Cordierite ceramic honeycombs are specified as structured regenerative media for RTO/RCO. Regenerative thermal/catalytic afterburners (RTO/RCO) are employed to destroy hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odour emissions in the automobile painting industry, chemical industry, electronics and electrical industries, and contact combustion systems, among others.
Cordierite Ceramic Honeycomb Packaging
Our ceramic heating honeycombs are managed under controlled conditions during storage and transport. This procedure maintains the product’s quality in its original state.
