Thulium(III)-Fluoride (TmF3) Description:
Thulium fluoride is a white, odourless powder that is insoluble in water. It serves as a water-insoluble source of thulium for use in oxygen‐sensitive applications, such as metal production. Thulium fluoride is used in ceramics, glass, phosphors and lasers, and it acts as an important dopant for fibre amplifiers as well as a raw material for the production of thulium metal and its alloys. It serves as a water‐insoluble thulium source for applications in oxygen‐sensitive environments, for example in metal production. Fluoride compounds are applied in modern technology and scientific research, for instance in oil refining and etching, in synthetic organic chemistry and in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
