Zirconium Dioxide (YSZ) Tube Description
Zirconium Dioxide (ZrO2) is a refractory material that exhibits chemical inertness and corrosion resistance at temperatures up to 2 200°C, which is well above the melting point of clay. It is stabilised in a cubic crystal structure to prevent the formation of cracks and mechanical weakening during heating and cooling. In addition, it shows low thermal conductivity and becomes electrically conductive above 800°C. Furthermore, oxygen ions can move freely through the crystal structure at temperatures above 600°C.

The YSZ tube is brittle and must be handled with care. When used as a processing tube, the heating and cooling rates should be maintained as slowly as possible (typically below 5°C per minute above 800°C and below 2°C per minute above 1 500°C).
Zirconium Dioxide (YSZ) Tube Applications
High-temperature insulation, thermal barriers, fuel cells, sensors, catalysis, and aerospace applications.
Zirconium Dioxide (YSZ) Tube Packaging
Our Zirconium Dioxide tube (YSZ tube) is handled with care to minimise damage during storage and transport, thereby preserving the quality of our products in their original condition.
