Zirconium Custom Fabrication Description
In the custom fabrication of zirconium, components are produced to precise industrial specifications using zirconium as the primary material. Zirconium is recognised for its corrosion resistance, high melting point and biocompatibility. It is used in applications ranging from chemical processing to medical implants. Custom fabrication processes enable the manufacture of zirconium parts to exact tolerances, thereby ensuring performance and durability under demanding operating conditions. This manufacturing approach is applied to produce components for nuclear reactors as well as corrosion‐resistant equipment for chemical processing plants, thereby providing tailored solutions for industries that require reliable, long‐term operational performance.

Customised Zirconium Applications
1. Chemical Industry: Zirconium is utilised in the manufacture of corrosion‐resistant equipment, including chemical reactors, pipelines and storage vessels for the handling of corrosive chemicals and solutions. Consequently, it is employed as a catalyst support in various chemical reactions and processes.
2. Nuclear Industry: Zirconium is used in the production of reactor components such as fuel cladding, reactor pressure vessels and coolant circuits, given its corrosion resistance and defined mechanical properties. It is applied in nuclear fuel processing and reprocessing as well as in associated auxiliary systems.
3. Medical Devices: Zirconium is incorporated in the manufacture of medical implants and surgical instruments, including artificial joints, dental devices and bone implants, owing to its biocompatibility and corrosion resistance.
4. Aerospace Industry: Zirconium is employed in the fabrication of engine components, spacecraft structures and propulsion system parts, which are designed to operate under high temperatures and corrosive conditions.
5. Chemical Processing: Zirconium is used in the construction of plant equipment that is exposed to high temperatures, pressures and corrosive media, for example reactors and heat exchangers in ammonia facilities, oil refineries and chlor‐alkali plants.
6. Oil and Gas Industry: Zirconium is applied in the manufacture of equipment for oil and gas extraction, both offshore and onshore, including drilling platforms, pipelines and corrosion protective linings, thereby addressing the challenges posed by marine water and oil/gas media.
