Operating at high temperatures: Molybdenum has a melting point of approximately 2623°C. It maintains a thermal conductivity of about 138 W/mK. Consequently, it is applied in environments that exceed standard temperature limits.
Mechanical strength: Molybdenum meets engineering strength criteria required in industrial processes. Tensile strengths of up to 500 MPa have been measured in standard configurations. This property satisfies precise mechanical requirements.
Corrosion resistance: A natural oxide layer forms on molybdenum. This layer reduces material degradation in corrosive conditions. Thereby, the service life under aggressive conditions is extended.
Electrical and thermal conductivity: Molybdenum exhibits electrical conductivity around 1.8 x 10^7 S/m and thermal conductivity near 138 W/mK. These values support its use in electrical components and heating applications.
