Aluminium Alloy 1350 Foil Description
High-purity aluminium alloys, such as alloy 1350, are sometimes referred to as EC (electrically conductive). The Aluminium alloy 1350 contains at least 99.5% aluminium and exhibits higher electrical conductivity than other alloys in the 1000 series. 1350 aluminium alloy foils are predominantly used in the transformer and switchgear markets, as they represent the most economical conductive alloy within the 1000 series. Although other aluminium products provide a higher aluminium content, these alloys are generally difficult to obtain and considerably more expensive than the 1350 and 1050 alloys.
These two products differ in that the chemical composition of 1050 exhibits a slightly higher maximum silicon content than that of 1350. Both values are specified as maximum limits; however, this small variance may affect critical applications.
